Garden in Chiswick for Relaxing
The owners of this Edwardian property in Chiswick wanted to completely transform their garden to create a more modern space for dining, relaxing, and entertaining friends. Aoba Landscapes was commissioned to design and build the new garden.
A spacious composite deck was installed directly off the back of the house, offering a generous area for outdoor dining and space for the clients to exercise during the warmer months. An integrated herb garden was built into the deck, positioned beside steps that lead down to a lower terrace featuring a large, comfortable outdoor sofa. The lower level also includes a small lawn and shed for gardening tools.
Many of the existing shrubs were preserved and carefully pruned into more structured forms, maintaining a sense of maturity while ensuring privacy from neighbouring properties. Two new trees were introduced, along with a mix of evergreen shrubs, perennials, and climbers to create a lush and vibrant planting scheme. An irrigation system was added to keep the garden thriving when the clients are away travelling.
Subtle lighting was incorporated to highlight trees and structural planting, creating a welcoming and functional atmosphere after dark. Comfortable outdoor furniture completed the transformation, making this garden a stylish and versatile extension of the home.
