Balham Oasis
Following major renovations to the house the clients wanted to create a lush oasis in their garden in the heart of Balham.
A bespoke pergola was designed for the rear of the garden which hides a large shed and provides a shady den for the kids to lounge in with friends during the day and sheltered spot for relaxing.
A large deck constructed with reclaimed scaffold boards add character to the space and contrasts well against the granite terrace. The deck will be filled with lounge furniture and a space has been created for a large bbq.
Surrounding the deck are planting beds that dissect the hard landscaping at various points. A large tree fern, smaller ferns and Phormiums have been used to create a tropical feel whilst grasses provide movement and a limited number of perennials add flashes of colour. As the planting matures the garden will become more enclosed by planting and each area will become further demarcated, creating the lush oasis the clients were looking for.
What our client had to say:
Loved working with John and Ben on this project. John took time to listen to our brief and his creative response absolutely nailed it from the start. He and Ben helped us work through creative solutions with materials to get not only the look and style that we were after, but to maximise the budget that we had to best effect.
The team were a pleasure to work with and we are thrilled with the end result. Would thoroughly recommend Aoba Landscapes if you’re looking for a creative and professional team for a garden project.
